How to Be a “Leader”

Have you ever noticed a time when a leader, CEO or manager gave a speech but you were left confused as to what the speech was really about?

Of course you have. Everybody has.

Want to rouse the troops? Want to fuel, motivate, and inspire? Want them to feel better about a bunch of random, unnecessary layoffs to please the faceless shareholders? Easy! Just write a pointless speech with a lot of buzzwords! Nobody will notice you didn’t have anything real to say. They’ll be so busy being wowed by your vivacious verbal assault, they won’t even realize you had nothing of value to communicate.

How, you ask? Simple! Just follow this example:

*clears throat*

Ladies and gentlemen, team members, and valued contributors,

As we embark on this journey together, I want to ignite the spark within each of you to reach new heights of success. Today, I stand before you not just as a leader, but as a fellow warrior in the battlefield of innovation and progress.

In this rapidly evolving landscape, agility is our greatest asset. Let us embrace change, not merely as a challenge, but as an opportunity to showcase our resilience and adaptability. Together, we will pivot, iterate, and disrupt the status quo, propelling ourselves forward into uncharted territories of growth and prosperity.

But remember, success is not a destination; it is a continuous journey fueled by passion and perseverance. Let us foster a culture of relentless determination, where setbacks are merely stepping stones on the path to greatness.

As we synergize our efforts and harness the power of collaboration, let us leverage our collective genius to solve problems, innovate boldly, and unlock limitless possibilities. Together, we are more than the sum of our parts; we are an unstoppable force of innovation and progress.

So, let us dare to dream big, think outside the box, and dare greatly. Let us embrace a mindset of abundance, where the sky is not the limit, but merely the beginning of our ascent to greatness.

Together, we will disrupt, innovate, and revolutionize. Together, we will soar to new heights and redefine what is possible.

Thank you for your dedication, your passion, and your unwavering commitment to excellence. Let us go forth and conquer, for the future belongs to those who dare to seize it.

Carpe diem, my friends. Carpe diem.

*gives a small bow*

Now that that’s done…

Just a quick word of advice – if you want to be a real leader, then don’t do whatever that was. People deserve better.
